David and Goliath FHE

Today for Family Home Evening I got a little extra creative!  I was reading a blog for ideas and came across David and Goliath, however the activity was to throw paper rocks at Daddy, lol.  Well I didn't think that would teach Tony something positive so I remembered when I was little we had the FHE lesson of this giant goliath that a Brother from our ward drew and we would throw rocks at it.  So I made my version of Goliath....anyways we had Isaac act as David.  I read the story of David and Goliath as Isaac acted it out.  Then afterwards we all through the paper rocks at Goliath.  I'd have to say it was one of our more successful FHE's...FHE with toddlers is always well..."interesting".  I was going to post a video but I can't figure out how to do it because it says there is an error...oh well.

Cleaning and Fish

I finally got around to organizing Tony's room.  He had lot's of toys that he never touched simply because, toys like rattles just aren't exciting for toddlers.  So I boxed up all his baby toys and organized what was left.  His room feels so nice now and all the toys out he uses ( :  Then I had Tony finger-paint fish and glue on paper eyes to hang above his bed to add some color to his room without spending any $.  Tony loves fish.  

Early Valentine's Surprise

After I cleaned off the table today I was thinking it would be so pretty to have a nice centerpiece on the table.  Coincidently, shortly after there was a knock on the door.  It was flowers from Isaac, for me!  They are so beautiful.  I was really surprised because we haven't always been very good about making holidays special.  But that's the good thing about marriage, we keep improving to make it better and better.  

A Vazquez Family Update!

Haven't posted in a loong time.  But I am planning on posting more often now.  So I am going to do an attempt to "catch up" on what has been going on the past yearish...

April 2012 Isaac and I graduated BYU-I.  We got to walk holding hands.  One of the best accomplishments of my life.  We considered Tony as much of a part in graduating as us, he was at the school with us very often and went through the normal school chaos of 2 full time student parents.  We managed to flip-flop our classes so that Isaac and I could just switch Tony back and forth and only needed a sitter for an hour our last semester!

Then we moved to Florida for Isaac's Graduate School Program at Barry University.  He is working on his Masters in Mental Health Counseling with a dual specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.  He is doing an awesome job in his program!

We moved to Davenport (near Disney) and stayed with my in-laws until we found a place of our own.  6 weeks later we moved to East Orlando.  We really loved all our friends we made there.  Then 6 months later (Nov.) Isaac got a job at Lifestream behavioral center and we moved to Mount Dora Fl.  That is where we are currently.

Isaac has gotten in shape and healthy!  He has done the Insanity program, Insanity Asylum 1, and is currently working on Asylum 2.  He is seeing awesome results and feels so much better than before when he was eating bad and not exercising.   He is a Team Beachbody Coach on the side to help others who want to make a lifestyle change too.

Isaac ended up quitting his job due to scheduling conflicts.  The schedule he had was nuts and he couldn't handle school with it and they would not let him have Sundays off.  As part of keeping the Sabbath day holy we believe in not working on Sundays so that we can worship our Savior.  Isaac was feeling the loss of church in his life and it was affecting our family greatly.  We prayed and with a leap of faith we decided it was best to leave the job.  He is currently looking for work again so we can take out less student loans.  However I am grateful that it brought us here to Mount Dora Fl.

Christmas was nice. Tony got his first bike, it is a balance bike with no pedals.  He also got some nerf guns and has been obsessed with guns ever since!  My favorite part of Christmas is our Christmas program.  We usually do it on Christmas Eve.  We read the Christmas story from the Bible, sing hymns, and do a few other things.

Tony turned 2!  My in-laws were so nice and threw him a party.  Tony loved blowing out the candles.

So like I said before I love Mount Dora Fl.  It is nice to be away from the big city.  I love it because there are a tons of awesome parks, lakes, and a cute historic downtown.  There isn't crazy traffic.  It is a beautiful town.  I really can't think of a better town to live in.  I love it.  There is also lot's of elderly folks.  I mean lot's.  Apparently people come here to retire....better that than noisy students ( :

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with another boy!  I am so excited for having another boy, I absolutely fell in love with little boys after Tony was born.  Who needs pretty bow's and flowers, little boys are so much fun ( ;  I am happy Tony will have a playmate to rough play with.  We are thinking of the name Enrico, Rico for short.  We aren't sure of a middle name yet.  He loves dancing in my belly at night just like Tony did.

He is a very active little thing.  He loves doing somersaults, rolling, jumping, running etc...

He loves playing with cars and trains.

He is OBSESSED with guns.  Guns and Ammo is a part of his everyday vocabulary.  He makes everything a gun, sticks, balls, pens etc... everything turns into a gun lol

He has good behavior charts that he gets to put stickers on and when it gets filled up he gets a prize.  It has tremendously improved diaper changes (before I had to fight just to do a diaper) and his behavior in general.  

Tony is very loving he has such a big heart.  He loves giving us kissies.  At night I can't leave with out giving him millions of kissies.  When he gets hurt he like me to kiss his "owies".  He kisses my owies too.  He is very smart.  I tell him to do something like "throw this in the trash", "get a spoon", etc.  and he can do it.

He likes me to count in Spanish not English....maybe it sounds cooler, I don't know lol

He loves cleaning the kitchen.

He is picking up on lot's of words.

He can read numbers 1-10 and knows the basic colors.  The colors he uses the most is brown and orange.

On Sundays he will stay in Nursery from snack time till the end, yay!

He enjoys playing video games with Daddy that he calls "Boom".  That is pretty much the only time he will settle down enough to take a nap, unless he falls asleep in the car.

Living here in Florida definitely has it's perks.  I often forget it's February (it was in the 80's today), I keep thinking it's April or something lol.  I love that we are only about an hour away from the beach. The weather here is awesome for me, I really don't like the cold.  However I miss Rexburg, ID sometimes.  I mainly miss the memories, people, and the school.  It would be nice to see snow for about a week but that is all.  I am really happy here and don't have to worry about Seasonal Affective Disorder anymore, hooray!  I love the sunshine.  After all my Grandma did nicknamed me her Sunshine.  That's another nice thing too.  I have never lived close to my grandparents before, now I am just 45mn away.  Also, instead of living lightyears away from my family in Texas, I'm only a day and a half away, and they visit Fl often so it works out nice.  There are yummy oranges here too.  Instead of potato trucks driving like I would see in ID, I see trucks of oranges lol.  I like the color orange ( :  Florida is alot like TX in some ways.  I love the thunderstorms in the summer.  I dream of Gators often lol, but that's because I watch Gatorboys before bed... Life is good, we are very blessed!

Okay so my previous post was about me starting Mary Kay.  Well now I'm phasing out of it.  I am going to keep up with my customers through January and than refer them to my Beauty Consultant.  I was getting successful at it but it just wasn't right for me and my family.

Anyways I have tried a million different things..almost lol.  I've never really stuck to one thing specifically.  So I am not spectacular at any one thing but I'm okay about a lot of things and know stuff about a lot!  I love trying all sorts of things, it keeps me well rounded ( ;  I joke how I never fit in with any sort of crowd because I just like a lot of stuff....

However Isaac did point out that there is one thing that I finished!  What is that you may ask?  School!!!! I graduated with my Bachelors from BYU-IDAHO!!!! Thanks Isaac for pointing that out.  I also never stopped being a Mom and doing Photography!

So I will continue to go through life learning and trying new things!  It keeps life spicy lol!!

Anyways I am going to rejoice in all the things I have done!!! And I plan on trying lot's more!!!!!

I am now a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant!

So here is my story why I chose to do this:

My first experience with Mary Kay was when a friend of mine asked if I would like a facial, and I was actually hesitant of saying yes.  But I did and it ended up being lot's of fun!  I went to a meeting with her and was very impressed with the program.  Everyone was so enthusiastic and friendly.  They set goals and achieved them and they were confident!  After that meeting I actually thought that I might want to do that.  However it was my last 2 semesters of college with a baby and my husband was in college and working too.  So I put it off.

So fast forward about 6-8ish months.  I'm a college graduate, we moved to Florida, and my husband is looking for a job.  I had about 3 full months of no responsibilities (well minus a child).  I had all the relaxation time I wanted after bedtime, no hw, no tests, so woohoo!  Then I started to stress about income...how would we make ends meet?  I felt sort of helpless about the situation.  Thoughts of doing Mary Kay kept coming up in my head.  I had just talked to my Mom while we were waiting in line to ride a slide at Aquatica and how I thought I could never do it.  Then one of my Photography friends messaged me on Facebook and she had just become a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant.  She gave me the boost I needed to finally go through with it.

All my myths about Mary Kay were busted a long time ago.  So what was holding me back was just my own self-confidence.  I thought others could do it but how could I ever do it.  So I decided well I never know until I try.  And I would rather fail than wonder forever if I could have done it.  Besides your life begins at the end of your comfort zone.  I wanted was those women had that I had seen at that meeting!  So I signed up.  The more I learn and talk with others the more confident I am getting.  I am sooo excited about starting.  I am nervous but more excited than anything.  It reminds me of when I was in high-school and my senior year I finally got the guts to try out for Drill-Team.  Some morning sI woke up thinking what did I get myself into, I have too dance in front of people today, am I nuts?!?!  But then I would go through my day and dance in front of people and it was the best thing ever (well in my high-school head)!  I enjoyed myself and had so much fun.  Well I have those same feeling about Mary Kay, that is why I know it is good for me.  It will also help me provide for my family.

In Mary Kay we learn Faith first, Family second, and Career third.  That aligns with my life perfectly!  I can still be a stay at home Mom, spend time with my family, and have time for the Savior every day.  While doing for that I can also provide for my family.

Soooooo I get my inventory here soon and then it is time to get started! I am going to do a kick of goal of 30 facials in 30 days!  I am so excited to be able to pamper Women and play with make-up!  I want to help other women feel more beautiful!  The first time I tried Mary Kay products I fell in love with it.  It was the first foundation and mascara that I really liked!  And its more than just make-up it is skin care as well.

Okay it really has been forever since I've blogged....so here is a very brief catchup of where I am at in life right now ( ;


-January 4, 2012 my little boy turned 1 year!


-Isaac and I both graduated from BYU-Idaho in April, we even got to walk across the stage holding 
hands.  Couldn't have been more perfect!  My parents, little sister, and father-in-law, all came to support us!  I felt a huge since of accomplishment, especially since I know I finished even with a crazy little boy that I love so much.  It wasn't easy but it was worth it!  I'm glad that I finished or else I would be looking back thinking, man I could have been graduating right now, glad I didn't do that!  


-Moved to Florida right after graduation!  Isaac drove with his Dad, along with our pet rat Sophie, to Orlando.  Tony and I flew to Texas to visit my family then flew to Fl.


-Lived with my In-Laws for about 2 months, we are grateful that they let us stay in their home while were where getting everything figured out.


-Isaac started Graduate school in May.  He is doing Mental Health Counseling.  He finished his first class with an A.  So proud of my Hubby.


-Isaac is currently looking for a job in Mental Health


-I turned 22.


-We moved into our own apartment May 31st.  I love that their is a river with a trail and park that we have access to from our apartment.


-I have the amazing opportunity to be able to be a stay at home Mom to my sweet Tony dear.


-We are slowly getting furniture and decorating our apartment.  


-We have had the missionaries over for dinner and they also came and helped us assemble some furniture...wow I feel all grown up now that I am feeding the missionaries in my own home!


-Tony is full of so much energy, a good helper, loves singing, loves dancing, say's "sophie, dog, bird, Ma (alot!) and Dada"  and says in sign language "more, all done, eat, water, and diaper". I am currently trying to teach Tony to 'behave' so we started time out...he loves to bite, hit, scream, and more!  Tony gives good kisses and is so loving when he is being nice.  I love my growing little boy so much!


-And I am about to start something really cool in which I will post about later...
